This year, we've launched a crop of new capabilities for Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed. In February, we announced model customization as well as flexible new pricing options, a free trial experience and an administrative dashboard. This month, IBM released a new version of watsonx Code Assistant that includes full Ansible Playbook generation as well as an on-premise deployment option.
Ansible Playbook generation
With Ansible Lightspeed, users can now generate entire Ansible Playbooks from a single natural language prompt.

Enhanced interface
Ansible Lightspeed also includes a completely reimagined guided chat interface to help you refine and update your prompt before generating a playbook.

Prompt refinement

Ansible Playbook generation
Ansible Playbook generation can dramatically boost developer productivity while helping new users who are just getting started with Ansible learn about Ansible Playbook syntax and structure. In addition, it includes helpful text explanations to contextualize the purpose and impact of playbook code.

Finally, Ansible Lightspeed now uses the IBM 20B Granite model to generate better quality recommendations for automation content creators and developers.
On-premise deployment of watsonx Code Assistant
Many Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform customers use IBM watsonx Code Assistant's cloud-based service, but for organizations in sensitive industries with data privacy requirements or air-gapped environments, both the Ansible Lightspeed service and the watsonx Code Assistant LLM are now available for on-premise deployment. This enables Ansible Automation Platform customers more control over their data and supports compliance with enterprise security policies.
