Red Hat e Sybase ampliano i termini della partnership che li lega da 10 anni e presentano una nuova appliance software destinata al mercato dei database software.
La virtualizzazione, che e' un elemento fondamentale della piattaforma Rhel 5 di Red Hat - esordisce Raj Nathan, Chief marketing officer e senior vice president Worldwide Marketing Operations di Sybase -, richiede che il database assicuri prestazioni sempre al top. L'accordo siglato va proprio in questa direzione".
Sybase Ase (Adaptive Server Enterprise) e il server analitico Sybase Iq certificati su Rhel 5 saranno disponibili concretamente nella seconda meta' dell'anno, limitatamente alle piattaforme x86. Si trattera', in pratica, di appliance software preconfigurate che il cliente potra' scaricare dal sito eShop di Sybase.
Grazie alle funzionalita' di virtualizzazione e clusterizzazione del nuovo Os - si dice convinto Timothy Yeaton, senior vice president Enterprise Solutions di Red Hat -, la nuova appliance rappresenta la soluzione ideale per gli ambienti che richiedono alta disponibilita' e affidabilita' delle applicazioni".
In base ai termini dell'intesa sottoscritta, i clienti potranno chiamare indistintamente l'uno o l'altro vendor per il supporto e la manutenzione della soluzione congiunta.
Questo grazie al fatto che Sybase entra a far parte del Red Hat Cooperative Resolution Center, un programma nato con l'intento di migliorare le sinergie tra Red Hat e i partner tecnologici in merito alla risoluzione dei problemi delle soluzioni vendute.
